چکیده

Jorge Nieto and Joaquín Cosmen received their MS from the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros Aeronáuticos (Universidad Politéctnica de Madrid, Spain). Ignacio García holds MS in mathematics from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain. They joined GMV and currently work in the GNSS Unit. In particular, Mr. Cosmen is the manager of this unit. GMV has a vast experience in the satellite navigation field being a member of the European industrial consortium created for EGNOS (European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service).

Interoperation and Integration of Satellite Based Augmentation Systems

In recent years there has been widespread growth in the independent development of Satellite Based Augmentation Systems (SBASs). The Federal Aviation Administration’s Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS) will be the first of multiple systems to become operational in the near future. Of current interest is interoperability of these physically separate, independent SBASs. In particular, designers...

SBAS Flight Trials in European Eastern countries where EGNOS is still not available

Taking into account the widespread availability of aRea NAVigation (RNAV) capabilities onboard the aircraft and in particular the increasing use of GNSS systems, navigation is moving from conventional towards RNAV. RNAV is a method of navigation which permits aircraft operations on any desired flight path within the coverage of referenced navigation aids, prescribed limits of selfcontained aids...

The ESA SISNeT Project: Current Status and Future Plans

Likewise other Satellite Based Augmentation Systems (SBAS), EGNOS– the European SBAS – will broadcast augmentation signals for GPS through Geostationary Earth Orbit (GEO) satellites. GEO broadcasting is proved to be an efficient strategy for avionic applications and other modes of transport. For some applications, though, it may be of interest to complement GEO broadcasting through other transm...

Sbas Ionospheric Performance Evaluation Tests

Satellite Based Augmentation systems (SBAS) provide to Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) users with an extra set of information, in order to enhance accuracy and integrity levels of GNSS stand alone positioning. In this context, different test methods to analyze the ionospheric corrections performance are presented. The first set of tests involves two of the ionospheric calculations th...

Development of the EGNOS Pseudolite System

In order to access the Satellite Based Augmentation System (SBAS) service, the end user needs to have a direct line of sight to at least one of the Geostationary Earth Orbit (GEO) satellites transmitting the augmentation messages. This requirement is critical for users in environments such as city canyons, valleys and fjords since high buildings and mountains in the vicinity of the end user can...
